Lesson Policies

Each student is required to furnish their own properly fitted instrument and the Suzuki Strings Volume I Book and Tape. {Our teachers will gladly give you more information on these items, and more information is listed below}

Parents are strongly recommended to attend each private lesson. Your child’s progress is directly related to your involvement.

Lessons are scheduled according to each teacher. Please be attentive to the time your child is scheduled.

Lessons cancelled by a teacher can be made up at a mutually convenient time. Lessons cancelled by student will be made up only at the teacher’s option. Teachers will follow the holiday schedule of public schools. Lessons falling on holidays will not be made up and no adjustment will be made in tuition. If you must cancel a lesson, please contact the teacher at least 6 hours prior to the lesson.

Payment policy

Tuition payment for private lessons is payable directly to your teacher:
½ hour lesson = $15.00
45 minute lesson = $25
1 hour lesson = $30

Master classes will be billed separately.

Practice Policy

Listening skills are essential to the child’s musical development, so the Suzuki tape (purchased with the lesson book) should be played everyday. In the car or before bedtime are excellent times to listen.

At the beginning, it is good to practice 15 minutes a day and with the parent’s help. Students are expected to add 15 minutes of practice for every year a child has taken lessons.

Here is a sample practice schedule for students:
1. Begin with review
2. Work on technique
3. Do the reading assignment if your child is working on note reading
4. Work on new Suzuki material
5. End with review

New Feature!

We are adding Saturday Master classes! Master classes are designed to enhance your child’s musical aptitude and encourage good practice habits.
