Director: Edd Brashier
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Place: Orchestra Room located on the 5th floor behind the sanctuary
The important place of instrumental
music in worship can be traced back to its beginnings in 1 Chronicles
15. Instruments were used to announce the coming of the ark of the
covenant. Since the ark represented the presence of God, these instruments
were used to announce the coming of the presence of the Lord. The
FBCJ Orchestra is continuing to develop its ministry to dynamically
announce God's presence each week in worship.

"Just as the earliest musicians in
1 Chronicles 15 were appointed or called to service," according to
Edd Brashier, Associate Minister of Music, "we believe that our instrumentalists
should also have a strong sense of calling to this ministry." If you
are a wind or string player, or a percussionist, with desire to pursue
your call, there is a place for you in the FBCJ Orchestra.
