ELEMENTARY CHILREN'S MINISTRY

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday: 9:00 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. on the fifth floor
Sunday morning children fill the hallways and rooms with excitement. Our Sunday morning experience for children includes a balance of Bible Study, Bible learning activities, worship for children and fabulous fellowship. Children are encouraged to become actively involved in learning and discovering God's word. Wonderfully gifted and loving teachers encourage children to learn about the Bible, applying knowledge to everyday life.

MUSIC

Wednesday: 6:00 p.m. on the fifth floor
August - December: Preschoolers
January - May: Children

Music for elementary aged children is a midweek activity beginning in January and culminating in May with an exciting musical production. It is full of age-appropriate musical and spiritual training. Our children enjoy fun with instruments, musical games, as well as learn praise and worship songs to share in church worship services several times each year. Children may also audition for Young Ringers, a children's handbell ensemble. This group is featured in several worship services.

MISSIONS

Wednesday: 6:00 p.m. on the fifth floor
August - December: Children
January - May: Preschoolers

Missions provides midweek fun and discipleship where children are exposed to a world outside their own. Children are actively involved in learning about people groups around the world, their cultures, and their need to know Jesus. Bible verses are taught and applied to develop understanding of how God uses us as "missionaries" to share the love of Christ.

AWANA

Sunday: 6:00 p.m. in CLC on first floor
AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. It is an exciting program combining Bible Study, scripture memory, and active games with children. Excitement fills the air as children earn achievement based awards and learn to share achievements with others.

BIBLE DRILL

Children's Bible Drill for 4th - 6th graders is designed to help children develop skills in using the Bible. Its purpose is to increase their knowledge of the Bible as well as to learn and memorize scripture. More than anything they will learn what it means to apply God's Word to their lives.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

June 2-6, 2008
Vacation Bible School is a week of WOW (Wonderful One Week)! Children gather for a week of innovative Bible story learning, games, crafts, refreshments, and fellowship that promises to leave children anticipating the next year. Activities in this fun filled week are purposed with an overall theme with spiritual transformation as the foundation.

JOURNEY KIDS

Journey Kids is a discipleship course designed for children seeking to make a profession of faith. This course involves a life changing experience for children in celebration of a new life with Christ

SUMMER CAMP

Growing children means lots of fun and play. Each summer camp is an action packed week of intense fun and spiritual growth while enjoying the beauty God has created. Purposely planned activities including outdoor games, crafts, skits, water play, and goofy games enhance learning and growth as God designed. Fellowship, discipleship, and outreach opportunities play important roles in this wonderful adventure.

THE ROCK (Pre-teen Ministry)

This ministry seeks to teach the love of God, a deepening understanding of His word and application to life. Children who are in 6th grade Sunday School are considered members of the Rock. Christian leadership development as well as gaining a deeper meaning of God's Word are also goals of this Sunday School program. Pre-teens are offered leadership opportunities through service on various ministry teams. These teams include an outreach team, mission team, production team, and The Rock Council which gives pre-teens a chance to help plan activities and retreats for the group. Pre-teens are encouraged to participate on at least one of these teams.
